Chetan’s financial condition never allowed him to move on the path of professional cricket easily. His parents considered cricket as a sport of financially stable people who could conveniently afford to live their dreams.
Chetan never received any proper cricket training until the age of 16 and before the time he used to practice by playing with the tennis ball. After completing the 12th standard in science, Chetan’s parents advised him to become a good engineer but Chetan had different plans for himself.
It was Chetan’s maternal uncle, Mansukh Bhai, who provided him with a simple job at his stationery shop located at Bhavnagar to help the young boy. His uncle paid for his tuition fee and allowed the youngster to play cricket in return for some work at his stationery shop.
