Delhi Capitals IPL 2020 is a team full of youngsters captained by young Shreyas Iyer. Delhi Capitals had a very good season last year under the leadership of Iyer who helped them reach the playoffs and eventually the team finished 3rd place.
This year the team has tried to collaborate the youngsters with experience So, they have traded Ajinkya Rahane and Ravichandran Ashwin into the team. Ajinkya Rahane who earlier played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL adds more dynamism in that number three position.
Captain Shreyas Iyer has been in tremendous form in ODI cricket of late and he will hope to convert the same into T20 cricket. He has been a handful for Delhi Capitals in recent times. The biggest strength of Delhi Capitals is that they have built a team around a strong Indian core.

Delhi Capitals have plenty of top-order batsmen with likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, and Jason Roy. Hence the selection of opener is going to be a good headache to have for Shreyas Iyer.
Shreyas Iyer has become a mature player since then he has taken over the captaincy of Delhi Capitals. He has the ability to shift gears depending upon the match situation. DC has explosive batsmen down the order with likes of Rishab Pant and Shimron Hetmeyer. They can change the momentum by hitting big sixes and putting pressure on bowlers. These players can not only play cameos but also have the ability to score big runs in case if top-order fails.
DC has bought two all-rounders -Marcus Stonis and Chris Woakes. Stoinis will be coming from a good form with the bat as he has been the leading run-scorer in the Big Bash League. Chris Woakes will be most likely be the backup option for Stoinis. He (Woakes) is a bowling allrounder and can provide early breakthroughs in the powerplay.

DC has Kagiso Rabada as a star fast bowler. He has the ability of bowl-perfect Yorkers and bouncers which will be very helpful in slog overs. Delhi pitch doesn’t have much help for pace bowlers however they have Kemo Paul who can use the slow and sluggish pitch by using his variations, slower ones, and knuckleballs. Ishant Sharma and Harshal Patel have been playing IPL for a while and they will bring the experience into the team.
DC which is a slow-turner will help the bowlers in the spin department. Hence the spin combo of Sandeep Lamichhane and Amit Mishra. These two can complement each other. Also, off-spinner R. Ashwin and Lalit Yadav have the ability to be match-winners for DC. The spinners will have to vary their speed and leg-spinners will try to pitch the bowl up to deceive the batsmen leaving him in dilemma whether to play front-foot or backfoot.
Overall DC looks like a balanced team in terms of backups and experience and has the ability to qualify for the play-offs. There is a little weak point in their pace bowling line especially when they play matches away from home. Ishant Sharma hasn’t been at his best in the T20 format and will be the weak link in the team.
Last season their batting had collapsed in the middle and eventually, DC had lost a couple of games after being in a good position to win the match, so they will try to correct the flaws in the later middle order by adding quality all-rounders in the playing XI.
