  • The match will be played in Pallikal.
  • India leads 2-0 in the three-match series

The Indian women’s team has to play its last ODI match of the series against the hosts on the tour of Sri Lanka. India has already taken an unassailable lead by winning the first two matches in this three-match series. In such a situation, captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s eyes are bound to be on a clean sweep of the Sri Lankan women’s team in the third match to be held in Pallikal.

Captain Harmanpreet has a chance to make the first ODI series memorable

Captain Mithali Raj retired from international cricket in June, after which Harmanpreet was given the full-time captaincy of the T20 as well as the ODI team. As full-time captain, Harmanpreet is playing the first ODI series against Sri Lanka. If Team India gets success in the match on Thursday like the last two matches, then it will be a memorable start for Captain Harman.

All eyes will be on the opening pair

In the third ODI of the series, Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana will once again be expected to rock the field. Chasing a target of 174 runs in the second match played at Pallikal, both these Indian batsmen batted from start to finish. In this match, opener Mandhana played a tremendous unbeaten inning of 94 runs in 83 balls. At the same time, Verma, the second opener, was on the crease with Mandhana till the victory by scoring the same number of runs in 71 balls. In such a situation, in the last match also, both these stalwarts will be expected to play in the same form further.

Captain Harmanpreet would like to keep the consistency intact

Captain Harmanpreet has been the most consistent performing player for India in the current series. In the first ODI, he scored 44 runs with one wicket, while in the second match he did not need to bat.

Renuka Singh will again show the edge of the ball

Fast bowler Renuka Singh has made a great impression in this ODI series. He took four wickets for 28 runs in a career-best in the second ODI, while taking three wickets in the first match. In the absence of veteran Jhulan Goswami, Renuka has made it clear with her performance that India’s young bowlers have the potential to take the team forward.
