Mitchell McClenaghan Cricketer Mumbai Indian

Mitchell John McClenaghan – IPL Profile
Mitchell John McClenaghan is a New Zealand cricketer who was born on Jun 11, 1986. The 35 years old left-arm fast bowler has earned a lot of respect and appreciation for his outstanding performances.

He is the 2nd bowler from New Zealand after Dayle Hadlee, who took four wickets on his debut.
His cricket career began from central districts to the national team of New Zealand.

The major part of his career consists of ODIs, T20I, and IPL franchise matches. He was a part of forty-eight ODI and twenty-nine T20 matches for his country.

Mitchel McClenaghan joined IPL in 2015 and played for the team Mumbai Indians as a bowler. His auction price was 1.00 Cr. Naturally, he is a left-handed batsman and a left-armed bowler. He played 56 IPL matches during his six years-long journeys. His average (economy) in IPL was 8.49 with a total of 71 wickets.

A brief account of his IPL career is as follows.

Unfortunately, Mitchell McClenaghan is not a part of IPL this year, as he was dropped by the franchise. He served the team in his last match against Chennai Super Kings that too in May 2019. He managed to get only three wickets in IPL 2019 and dropped his form.

He did not play in IPL 2020 although he was still a part of Mumbai Indians. And finally, he was dropped from this year’s cricketer draft.

Mitchel McClenaghan is still the fastest new Zealander who took 50 ODI wickets. He achieved his feat in just twenty-three matches.
His cricket career was badly affected by his injuries. In 2016, despite his great comeback, he did not get good opportunities to showcase his talent effectively.
