England tempo bowler Stuart Broad has been penalized by the ICC (Worldwide Cricket Council) for breaching its code of conduct throughout the lately concluded third Check match towards New Zealand and a demerit level was added to his account.

Broad was charged with a breach of Article 2.9, with pertains to throwing a ball “at or close to a participant in an inappropriate and/or harmful method” within the third Check match which was performed at Headingley.

The incident which bought Broad reprimanded occurred within the 89th over of New Zealand’s second innings, when Broad fielded the ball in his follow-through and threw it in the direction of Daryl Mitchell, with the New Zealand batter having not left his crease or displaying an intent to take a run.

Second Demerit Level For Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad admitted to the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by David Boon, the ICC match referee at Headingley. The offense was leveled by on-field umpires Marais Erasmus and Richard Kettleborough, third umpire Aleem Dar, and fourth umpire David Milnes, and he acquired one demerit level on his disciplinary document.

The 36-year-old now has two demerit factors to his title inside a 24-month interval, having previously acquired a demerit level for steering an “unsuitable phrase” at Yasir Shah throughout the 2020 Previous Trafford Check towards Pakistan.
